For now, let's start off with our most recent gathering -- the Double Birthday Bash.
Well, being a DOUBLE birthday bash, it is obviously the celebration of the birthdays of two of our fellow SNAWDians, namely Choy Wai Shaun (a.k.a Springboy) and Julie (a.k.a SNAWD's designated driver). They don't share the same birthday, but we decided to celebrate their birthdays together nonetheless for the sake of convenience.
Let us begin now.

7/11/2009, Saturday
I arrived in Taipan at approximately 7.00 pm. Why did I arrive at such an early time, you ask? Well, that is because I had to proceed to Secret Recipe to purchase the cake beforehand. At Secret Recipe, I decided to phone Hou Yi to confirm about the writing that was to be written on the cake. Hou Yi, being Hou Yi, proceeded to have a friendly argument with Xiang Ting regarding the choice of words to be used. Among their choices were "Jason" -- Julie's other name used only by Xiang Ting and "猪利" -- a reiteration of Julie's name using words that have less value in literature. I turned down all their suggestions and decided to stick to just plain old "Julie".
After the commotion regarding the cake, I proceeded to deliver the cake to Station 1 Cafe. There was a big fuss about the tables that I supposedly reserved. Apparently, several uncivilized men forcefully removed the tags that wrote "Reserved" from the tables and went ahead about consuming their alcoholic drinks on the tables. Fortunately, the adequacy of tables prevented me from clobbering them into unidentifiable pulps.
As it was only 7.30 pm at that time and Hou Yi's gang was yet to arrive, I decided to take a stroll in the 100 yen store that was next door. After staying in the store for some five minutes, I walked back to Station 1 Cafe only to see that four monkeys had already arrived there, the monkeys being Amelia, Andrea, Hou Yi and Xiang Ting. After properly framing (literally) the photos and adding the final touches to both the birthday cards, we continued talking for approximately 10 minutes before shifting everything from the pub-styled table inside the cafe to the diner-styled tables (which I reserved) outside (or so they call it) the cafe.
We waited and waited for like, ever, before Shauny finally arrived at the scene (Did Wan Chee, Yi Mann and Yii Huey arrive before or after? My memory seems to be failing me). As expected, he was wearing a white T-shirt, in contrast to our blacks, because I deliberately fooled him into doing so (credits to Hou Yi for the dull yet brilliant idea). After that, Natalie (Forgive me if I mixed up the order again), who decided to take a break from her torturous studies, arrived. The most interesting entry was of course that of Wei Yoong and Mary (a.k.a dai sou). We were all surprised by Mary's presence as she has previously stated that she would not be attending the event. Finally, Julie, the main man (woman?) of the day, arrived, along with Hui Ping, her gay (lesbo?) partner.
We chatted away busily, with Shauny losing big time to Amelia in a game of Tap Tap Revenge 3. Yii Huey (or was it Hou Yi?) decided to order some food. However, they got lost in the realm of sampat-ness soon after, leaving the waiter to stand there idle, seeming very impatient. Mary left us at about this time as she had other matters to attend to. After some 10 minutes, they finally re-realized (this word sounds funny) the presence of the waiter and proceeded to complete their order. Our most sincere apologies, anonymous waiter. I shall skip the part where we ate and had much crap talk, or this blog post would take a hundred pages to complete, and you would most likely find me brain dead (literally) in front of my computer.
Speaking of food, I DO remember that Andrea had a serving of lamb chop which seemed very delicious from the way she ate it. She consumed the lamb in a most uncivilized way -- biting it off chunk by chunk until there is no more. Amelia, who found the slab of meat to be very tempting, took a bite at that lamb chop. However, she failed to bite off her share of the meat and just left it there, leaving the lamb chop bite-scarred, and Andrea grunting in annoyance. That was an interesting scene indeed.
After we all finished our meals, we cleared up everything and proceeded to the pool table. There was also a dart board on the wall. Teacher Robin arrived around then. He flipped the menu open, pointed at us one by one, and asked, "Yes (?) tea?". Our reaction was "Huh?". Until now, I still do not know how that led to us agreeing for a serving of tea. We played pool, of course. Was kinda cool. And darts. The girls played a game that is a combination of the Number Game and Truth or Dare. Yi Mann was just plain crazy. I will not attempt to reiterate the craziness of the Dare victims.
After 4 rounds of pool (and who-knows how many rounds of the crazy game), we decided to take out the cake. One thing that I learned is that Xiang Ting has completely no idea how to insert candles into a cake. The cafe singer was kind enough to change his song mid-tune into a birthday song. After that came the cake cutting. Julie was so rough with the cake that the plastic knife chipped in the cake. Now I wonder whose stomach that piece of shrapnel went down? There was nearly a cake fight. NEARLY. Fortunately, it was stopped in time. After the cake, came the yadaas again.
Yadaa-ing lasted for about half an hour or so. Then, they went home one by one. Julie, Hui Ping, Xiang Ting and I going to Sunway Pyramid is out of topic. So there. This concludes the Double Birthday Bash.
I found out that my writing is a lil' long winded. Please bear with me. I shall work towards a change soon. Over and out.
