The New SNAWD
Well, now that I'm around, I guess it's time for a little update about SNAWD.
Introducing our new members!
First up, we have the-one-who-does-not-talk-much-but-is-an-excellent-poser, Gan Chun Ming!
The one who is sheepish, Royston!
The camera-shy girl, Jia Qi!
And not to forget, Min June who sadly could not join us for the training.
It's been a helluva memorable two weeks, and I greatly appreciate the time shared with each and every one of you. Let's hope for more fun times in the new future, shall we?

Seeing that (almost) everyone is gonna have their exams soon, I guess I'll just leave a message of good luck here.

MSSM
Very well, I shall give my individual wishes to everyone here.
Denice,
Remember what you're fighting for, who you're fighting for. Keep the fire burning for everyone who has high hopes for you, and also for yourself. Nail all your weaknesses. Think. Think hard. And when you're done with that, you're ready to kick ass once again. Hit 'em hard! Pull of a stunt like never before! Remember to show me your shiny, gold medal. (or maybe two shiny gold medals =D)
Xiang Ting,
Fear not, what you are weak in. Fear will only serve to weaken your weakness even more. Smother your spear with love. Believe in her. Believe that she will not disappoint, for I will pray, and pray very hard for her to assist you in performing your very best. Have faith in his teachings. Have faith that you will prevail. Have faith that you will pierce the heavens.
Andrea,
I believe that you do not need any motivation from me, nor would you need any advice, since what you have accomplished far exceeds that of mine. All I have to say is, if you don't win, if you don't show me TWO shiny gold medals, I will stare at you, creep you out, creep you out until you cry. Mark my words. XD
Wei Yoong,
Quoting Nike, "Just do it".
Hou Yi,
From what I've heard from my mom, you've been working very, very hard lately. Keep it up! I haven't seen you train in a while, so I can't really give you any advice. But I know you'll always do your very best. Take heart. I await your awesome performance.
Rocky,
你啊!肩膀放松了没有啊?老毛病快点改掉啊!去年你说你很欣赏我的认真,现在我对你说,我也是很欣赏你的努力的,知道吗?看好你咯!别令我失望!张帅,加油!
Kah Chun,
I don't know if you ever read this blog, but I guess I should write something for you too. I don't really know you well, but all I can say is remember to get the flavour of your moves right. Open up, and show off your amazing grace. I really, really hope that I could be there to cheer for you, but it's a pity that I have no leave. Make your debut a crowd-stunning one, okay? Go, kid!
Wan Chee,
Hmm..... I really can't think of anything to say. What I do know is that this, being your first competition ever, will certainly be nerve-racking. That is normal. Quoting Natalie, "A competition is just a training session with pretty clothes". Do what you always do, and do it right. Jia you!
Jia Jun,
Kid! Have you been training hard? Haven't heard from you lately. I hope you are. Anyway, this is your third major competition already, so it shouldn't be much of a problem, right? Tell you what, if you get medals, I get you pudding. Deal? Now go swing your Indian sword and get gold! Gold gold gold FTW! =D
--------------------------------------------------------------------
*Side note: Since Amelia claims, and insists, that she too, will be competing, I shall act like I have the intelligence of a 5 year old for once and write one for her.
Amelia,
Geez. Why am I even doing this. Anyway, I guess you have a clear mind on what you should do, and what you should not do. I think you'll be able to achieve a balance in all aspects just fine. At any cost, press on. Get rid of all distractions (although distractions in minute amounts are fine), and be focused on your goal. I'll be here for you. Always.
And yes, that post doesn't necessarily have to refer to any specific event. It's just for you.

MCA president lauds association for promoting sports and cultural events
By CHITRA S. NATHAN
metro@thestar.com.my
MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has commended the Negri Sembilan Chin Woo Athletic Association for promoting sports and cultural events.
“I hope the association, through its many sporting and cultural activities, continues to contribute to society and our nation,” he told an audience of almost 1,000 people at the Chung Hua High School in Seremban on Monday.
The association is the second oldest in the country and has some 1,000 members, including students from 40 schools statewide.
Association president Chong Kim Fatt said the association was started to promote wushu, a Chinese martial art, not just for self-defence but as an activity with health benefits.
Chong said wushu, although rooted in Chinese culture, could be practised by anyone regardless of race or religion.
“We hope to get more people involved in this sport. At the moment, we have a few Malay and Indian students in our association.
He said wushu was now practised in more than 100 countries in the International Wushu Federation.
Chong said the first national inter-school wushu championship would be held in Seremban next month attesting to the association’s efforts in promoting the sport.
“Negri Sembilan was the first state to organise an inter-school wushu competition a few years ago and this was thanks to the support and cooperation we received from the state government.
“Now, we will be hosting our first national meet with more than 1,000 athletes from 12 states taking part,” he said, adding that the association’s wushu athletes had represented the state and country at national and international meets.
Guests at the function were treated to a dinner and entertainment with Chinese drum performances and wushu displays throughout the four-hour event.
This year also marks the association’s centennary celebration.
The movement was founded a century ago in Shanghai by grandmaster Huo Yuanjia to promote wushu as an art form under a common banner.
Since its establishment, the movement has spread its wings across the globe and there are now 19 branches in Malaysia.
Also present at the event was Malaysian Wushu Federation president Datuk Seri Kee Yong Wee.

A Tale of Two SNAWDians in Singapore
We browsed through several shops in Sim Lim Square. After looking through several brands like Fujitsu, Asus and Dell, and listening to many salesmen talking about the pros and cons of various brands, Nat finally settled for the Dell Inspiron 14R. However, since it was to be paid for by instalments, sam gor had to make a cash deposit first. So, we walked all the way to Sim Lim Tower, only to be told that the UOB Bank is situated in Fu Lu Shou complex, which is in the opposite direction from where we came from =.= So we walked, and walked, and walked, then made the cash deposit, and walked and walked back to Sim Lim Square. Then we had to wait for the card to be processed. So we waited, and waited, and in the process saw an Indonesian family bargaining for 6 Dell Netbooks (that rich guy was going to buy one for every one of his kids I guess).
At about 7pm, the purchase was finally completed, and we made our way to the McDonald's outlet at Bugis Junction where Aunty Eve was already waiting. We had our dinner and a fairly long session of chit chat while waiting for sam gor to get his car, which was parked somewhere at Bencoolen Street. Sam gor eventually arrived, and Natalie and I parted ways once again.
Nothing beats being with family.

How To Layer 2 Pictures Perfectly With Paint
1. Nick 2 photos you need off the internet.
2. If necessary, use your art program of choice to change pictures to block colors. I will not divulge my art program here, it is TOP SECRET. And NOT Paint.
3. Open both in Paint.
4. In Picture A, use the Free-Form Select tool to cut around the part of the picture you want layered on top of Picture B.
5. Copy and paste to picture B. Position.
6. Using the Pick Color tool, select the color you want layered on top of Picture A/B, which ever one you want to appear behind.
7. Zoom in 400%.
8. Using the largest Brush tool (square), painstakingly go over every single offending pixel that should not appear. In other words, paint over the bits you don't want to be seen. EVERY SINGLE PIXEL!
9. Using the second largest Brush tool (square), repeat step 8.
10. Using the smallest Brush tool (square), repeat step 8.
11. Zoom in 800%, if needed. Touch up.
12. Zoom back to 50% and see if anything is lacking.
DONE!

SNAWD Shirt?
Any features, colors or fonts you like/don't like can easily be fixed. But constructive criticism only, please! No whining, either.
Have not decided on the shirt color/design color, I only did it in black and white as a sample.
I like the back, though. It's cute.

Last Class
So everyone was standing up to go warm up outside then MHRB said "No need to run lah!" so we all came back in and stood in one line in front of him, like how we usually do at the end of class. MHRB had that sneaky smile on his face like when he has torture in mind, so everyone got really scared. You know...The Face...
So that's what we did, people! Jog for 30 minutes and then partay! Whee!
